Today’s top ten is a list of our favorite cakes, pastries, cookies or pies. Finally a list where I can use all those photos of food that I take. Thanks to Tamara, Part-time Working Hockey Mom, for setting the theme.
Here’s my list……..
3. Lamington – an Australian delicacy. Sponge cake dipped in chocolate and covered in coconut – a real taste of home.
4. Carrot Cake – and it has to have cream cheese frosting. One of the few cakes that my beloved will accept vegetables in.
6. Coffee Cake – I’m not only a coffee drinker, I also love it in cake form.
7. Pasteis de Nata (Portugese Tart) – puff pastry and egg custard.
8. Scone with Jam and Cream (preferably clotted) – strawberry jam is the best.
9. A Tunnock’s Teacake – this is a Scottish delicacy. A biscuit base with soft marshmallow on top and then all of it encased in chocolate. The teacake was born in 1956.
10. Strawnoffee Tart – this is a treat that we’ve had once at a cafe on Scotlands West Coast. It’s caramel, strawberries, cream, and chocolate – so good. The name is because it’s like a banoffee pie but instead of bananas it had strawberries.
#1 – I had something similar but I don't think it's quite the same as the mint slices you mentioned here#2 -not much into cupcakes but anything sweet, I might enjoy#3 – never heard of it though the covered in coconut might not be to my taste#4 – not my favorite but I think frosting might change that#5 – I like croissant but only occasionally#6 – never tasted coffee cake so I don't know if I like it or not#7 – I guess it's like the egg tart that I like except with a different type of filling#8 – don't really like scones but I like strawberry jam though#9 – sounds good though I never heard of it#10 – never had one but it sounds good since I like strawberries a lottasty list!have a lovely day.

So interesting to see those internationally diverse specialties! We have talked about Lamington (and I expected it to show up on your list!) but I haven't heard -much less tasted – Tunnock's Teacakes or Strawnoffee Tarts. Learning something new every day!

Love carrot cake. Yesterday we had a pumpkin walnut cake with cream cheese frosting. I have two loaves of chocolate carrot zucchini bread in the freezer. Never met a scone I didn't like. Today I am making buttermilk biscuits.
